Here’s a poop scoop for you: The City Council wants to curb your dog.
Legislators introduced a package of bills yesterday aimed at helping the scourge of dog poop that intensified during weeks of feces-strewn snow piles this winter. Remember that?
The four bills focus on outreach and other ways to make it easier for dog owners to pick up after their four-legged friends.
One of the bills would create a pilot program to compost dog waste left at dog runs. Councilmember Harvey Epstein introduced that one, partly because he takes his own mutt, Homer, to the local dog runs — and is forced to trash the poo. What a waste!

- Friday, May 1: Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs is hosting a lawn party in the shadow of Yankee Stadium. Free, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday, May 2: The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus is coming to Wagner Park, a vintage-inspired act featuring a mix of clowns, jugglers, wire walkers, acrobats and aerialists. Free, at 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
- Sunday, May 3: Create an original, festive design for a Mother’s Day card with the help of designers to guide you, using the Seaport Museum’s 19th-century printing equipment. Free, from 12 to 2 p.m.
THE KICKER: This day in history was once Moving Day for the entire city, causing chaos as millions of New Yorkers changed homes in just 24 hours each May 1.
